Muhammad Irfan

Muhammad Irfan is an assistant professor of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. Prior to joining KFUEIT, he was an assistant professor at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in the Department of Electrical Engineering since 2008. He received his MS and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Gwangju, South Korea in 2011 and 2016, respectively. Later he joined Photon Information Processing center at GIST as Postdoctoral researcher.

His research experience and interests are in the general areas of ultrafast phenomenon, optical properties of carbon allotropes, THz spectroscopy and photoluminescence properties of different phosphorus materials with a particular focus towards their application in lighting application in UV region. Moreover, smart homes management system, and temporary fault on HVDC lines are also included in his current research domain.
